Chocolate Cupcake

I don't bake cakes nowadays as I used to because of health issues. Two days ago on a lazy afternoon when my son asked me to bake something for him I couldn't resist any more. I searched on the internet for a recipe. I wanted to try something new but at the same time I was hesitant to experiment. Since I am only baking on rare occasions nowadays I didn't want to take any chances, so settled for the plain old chocolate cake. I adaped a red velvet cupcake recipe that I had.

It turned out very soft and spongy. I will definitely make it again.

Rustic heart

I  guess I am one of those few bloggers who haven't shared a Valentine post yet. Lately, I have been seeing hearts everywhere and that was enough to motivate me to make one myself. I got my inspiration from Lucy's rose heart hanger.

Actally I made one last year too. It was a long red heart but I didn't like it. I had made up my own pattern. It didn't turn out the way I wanted it to, so I threw it away. This time I used the pattern from here.

I used a bulky weight yarn and the color gives it a rustic look. I really   this one. I played around with textures too. I love editing my photos but I don't think I have ever used textures before. I got some free ones online and loved them.

Do you know I am pinning too? I created my pinterest account some time back but hadn't been pinning enough then. Recently I have started to take my pinning more seriously ;) and have created more boards. So if you wish you can follow me here.

Have a wonderful day ahead!

Infinity scarf with rose brooch

My first post for the New Year coming pretty late. I had to wait until I finished this gorgeous scarf. Winter is making me even more lazy.

I can't believe it is almost a year now since I opened my little shop in Etsy. I never thought I would come this far. I didn't even know about Etsy couple of years ago when I started this blog. It really amazes me to know how a little step that I dared to take could bring about so many changes in my  life. I am glad that I took that little step.

2012 brought a huge smile on my face. 2013 kick started with a positive note and I am sure this year is going to rock. It's all because of your support and I am thankful forever.

Anyway my first pattern for this year is an infinity scarf with a beautiful large rose brooch. You can wear it as a long loop or wrap it twice around your neck to keep it warm and cozy. It is available in my shops herehere and here

Happy Weekend to all of you!
